The history of BLOOD ORANGE gin and the Gin & Tonic

GIBSON’S BLOOD ORANGE is a distilled gin with natural blood orange flavours that add freshness and bitterness. Citrus notes are becoming increasingly popular in the world of flavoured gin.

In the 1840s, the Royal Navy drank quinine-rich tonic water as a means of fighting malaria. As the drink was very bitter, doctors would add gin to make it more palatable. And so the Gin & Tonic was born! Today, many different takes on the recipe are available, including GIBSON’S BLOOD ORANGE Gin, which adds a colourful and original new dimension to any cocktail!
